Far from being a complicated process, financial planning is really quite simple. There are basically seven simple steps to a sound financial plan. An Adviser will:

  1. Meet with you for an initial consultation and provide you with a copy of their Disclosure Statement.  The Statement outlines your Adviser’s qualifications, experience and how they get paid
  2. Collect the information they need from you and find out your attitude towards risk, so they can advise in line with your financial style
  3. Help you identify your goals and current financial position
  4. Consider strategies and options, identify problems and provide you with written recommendations
  5. Discuss the recommendations with you and if need be, make adjustments until you’re happy with them
  6. Implement your financial plan
  7. Your Adviser can also help you review your plan periodically to make sure everything’s on track
