Far from being a complicated process, financial planning is really quite simple. There are basically seven simple steps to a sound financial plan. An Adviser will:
- Meet with you for an initial consultation and provide you with a copy of their Disclosure Statement. The Statement outlines your Adviser’s qualifications, experience and how they get paid
- Collect the information they need from you and find out your attitude towards risk, so they can advise in line with your financial style
- Help you identify your goals and current financial position
- Consider strategies and options, identify problems and provide you with written recommendations
- Discuss the recommendations with you and if need be, make adjustments until you’re happy with them
- Implement your financial plan
- Your Adviser can also help you review your plan periodically to make sure everything’s on track
